Elvis who was born Elvis-Obukowho Ejiro. K in Enugu, Nigeria, in 1993. His interest in music was unknowingly sparked by the tons of jazz, Congolese and Afro beat (Fela) music his Dad would play every weekend while Ejiro aka Elvis who went about his house chores. Through the years he would gradually self-train himself to make beats using fruity loops and learn to play a variety of musical instruments like the guitar, piano, drums, saxophone and flute and also hone his vocal skills. In 2014 he came in 2nd runner up in the Nigerian idol competition and has been a sensation ever since, coming in 1st runner up on the East African Airtel Trace music star competition and winning the U.S Academia award for best cover song in 2016.
He has also curtain raised and played alongside giants in the entertainment industry like Davido, Diamond platnumz, Tiwa Savage, Flavour and aspires to become one himself.
He has since released 5 songs and a bunch of music and cover videos which have garnered over 100k streams on YouTube and other streaming platforms.
He is currently working on his debut Ep titled “What drives the Man” which is all about love, romance and good vibes. The Ep will feature other amazing acts like Bensoul & Mane from the band “Mankind”.
Elvis Who infuses the Nigerian Pidgin, Swahili, and English Lyrics to create a smooth mesmeric African vibe which he brings to various genres of music and plans to use his God given talent and skills acquired through the years to inspire and entertain the present and future generations.
