Mochas Boutique was founded in June 2020 by Sonjia and Kelvin Burns. As a 13-year-old, I expressed to my mother my aspiration to own a clothing store. During a trip to Miami, Florida, I visited a store with an extensive clothing selection. The Korean store owner advised me to procure a diverse range of clothing and sell them online in Augusta, GA. However, I opted to explore alternative venues that accommodated vendors. I discovered the Augusta Centre Flea Market, located at 1507 North Leg Rd, which housed over 25 vendors. My grand opening took place in August 2020, and I expanded my reach by participating in various pop-up shops. I established a roadside venue and traveled to different states, earning the title of Pop-Up Queen of Augusta, GA. I was featured on local news, discussing my business venture. Mochas Boutique offers women's, children's, and teenage apparel, as well as select items for men. My goal is to cater to individuals from all walks of life, ensuring exceptional customer service. My motto is to smile, enjoy life, and continually apply pressure. The nickname Mocha originated from a vendor who shortened my former business name, Chocolate Mochas Desires & More. I am grateful for God's blessings on my business. My aspiration is to open a store in California, a hope that I am committed to fulfilling.
