My Story

Keith Ferguson is a Bahamian designer reclaiming craft, color, and self through the language of slow fashion.

Raised in a home where waste was discouraged, Keith learned early to value what could be reused, renewed, and reimagined. What began as a childhood fascination with slingshots and rocks evolved into a deep love for natural materials and the stories they carry.

During the stillness of the COVID-19 pandemic, he picked up discarded avocado and dyed his first shirt. That moment of experimentation became the seed for something bigger: a practice rooted in play, sustainability, and ancestral memory. With every batch of dye fermented from native fruits seagrapes, guineps, sapodilla Keith’s work seeks to honor the Bahamas not just as backdrop, but as collaborator.

Though he often felt distant from his culture growing up, seen as “too white” or “too different,” staying in the Bahamas after school changed everything. He began to see the beauty, potential, and complexity in himself and his surroundings. His latest work blends natural dyeing with upcycled fabrics, hand-finished details, and garments designed to age, patina, and become personal.

For Keith, clothing is not just something you wear it’s something that grows with you.
