My Story

Mariposa began with a dream stitched from passion and culture. I’m Rikitra Antonia Prosper, a Bahamian designer who first learned to sew at BTVI. With limited resources but a clear vision, I started selling press-on nails to buy my first sewing equipment. That $500 investment became the seed of something greater—Mariposa, a brand inspired by Bahamian beauty, bold femininity, and island confidence. Every piece is handmade with love, reflecting not just style but strength. My mission? To create fashion that empowers women to express themselves and carry a piece of the Bahamas wherever they go.
